The Happy Ending

About

Four fairy tales. One Broken spell. And a secret that threatens everyone.

After his farm fails and his cow goes dry, Jack is certain the Happy Ending will intervene. He isn't prepared for how lost he feels when it doesn't. Heartbroken, he determines to save his family himself.

Hepsibah resents being cast by the Happy Ending as the villain in the cursed princess story. Ignoring tradition, the aged fairy tries to give a true gift to the babe rather than a curse. She doesn't know that nothing she does will turn out as expected.

Ella dreams of one night of happiness, away from the harsh reality of her life. She's crushed when the evening doesn't go as planned. After the ball ends, Ella's dreary existence gets even more difficult for her to bear.

Adalia can't decide what she wants lately. She worries about her family and the threat to her kingdom. She hates not knowing whether the midnight dances are the answer to her problem or the cause of it.

Hepsibah fears her magic is out of control. Jack races to warn about a secret that has been hidden for millennia. Ella flees, hoping it's not too late to escape. And Adalia fights against the spell that holds her family hostage.

All of them are about to discover just how dangerous their world can be.

Praise for this book

A great read! This is the next level fantasy fairytale that everyone needs to read on the way to adult-ing (whether you are 14, or 64). Great characters and plot lines that keep you guessing- with the underlying theme that having everything magically work out for you all the time seems grand- but is actually a curse that weakens you. Working, learning, and solving your own problems is far more satisfying than waiting around for your fortune to change, and that when good people put aside differences and stand together- evil can be stopped.
I stayed up way too late enjoying every page.

Book was filled with wonderful messages about the strength that comes from seeing past prejudices, colors, stigmas, and traditions as well as the happiness and fulfillment that come from being selfless and helping others.
It teaches of the pain that comes from selfishness and how 'few' can spread the pain to 'many.'
Just a great book.

Such a great read! Would recommend to anyone who loves fantasy and some mystery elements! There were so many rollercoaster moments that left me dying to read more, and I love the way the characters grow throughout the entire story.
I loved seeing their different strengths help them survive such confusing circumstances, and the friendships they make along the way!
Such a beautiful, clean book for anyone looking for a new world to explore! Bon voyage!

I love books that are fairy tales told in a different way. This book involves not one fairy tale, but four. It is also about lands where many fairy tales are told and every tale told will always have a happy ending. What does it do to people to know that everything will always turn out happy? What happens to the people when the spell put upon them to ensure everything ends in happiness breaks, and it turns out it was a curse not a blessing?

This is a great book and a great adventure. It also helps you wonder about the damage that can be done when everything always goes right. A great read for everyone. I highly recommend it.
